1983年發生大火，燒毀不少居民的家園，政府於是進行清拆及在原址開山，建成耀東邨、興東邨等公共屋苑。
After a large fire in 1983 displaced numerous residents, the Yiu Tung Estate, Hing Tung Estate and other public housing estates were built.
