This is a colorful traditional woodblock print depicting the SARS epidemic (2002-2003). Across the top runs the slogan "众志成城 战胜非典," with "SARS" crossed out in a prohibition sign. The Great Wall of China stretches across the upper portion. Below it is the label "小汤山医院" (Xiaotangshan Hospital), referring to the emergency medical facility famously built in Beijing in just seven days to quarantine and treat SARS patients. On the left side of the middle section, a Communist Party flag bearing the hammer and sickle is shown. Beneath the flag is a group of doctors and nurses, including one labeled "钟南山" (Dr. Zhong Nanshan), who examines an X-ray while other healthcare workers prepare treatments. In the lower left, hazmat teams disinfect the public area. In the lower right, a masked elderly man in a wheelchair is cared for by a green-uniformed officer. Another official in a blue uniform takes the temperature of a masked child with a backpack. The Chinese text in the panels at the bottom forms a short, rhythmic poem that summarizes the themes of the poster.
