宋時名官富場，是廣東十大鹽場之一；元時有人在此處山石上刻「宋王臺」三字作為紀念，晚清建九龍寨城。原址今改建為公園。
During the Song dynasty, this was Guangdong’s premier source of salt. A Rock, "Sung Wong Toi" was craved to memorialise the emperors of the Southern Song Dynasty. A Walled City was built in late Qing dynasty.
