相傳車公是南宋末年的一名勇將，隨宋帝昺南下逃難時在途中病逝。他精通醫術，深受村民尊敬。車公廟有悠久歷史，相傳與對抗疫症流行，或與田心村風水有關。
The temple is dedicated to a Song dynasty general, "Che Kung", who is said to have accompanied the Emperor when he fled southwards.
