古稱赤磡村，十九世紀時只是突出在海灣畔的
小半島，其後填海作為黃埔船塢，此外還有青
洲英泥廠及中華電力廠。
Known as Chek Hom village in pre-modern days,
after the 19th century this area industrialised rapidly
and was home to the Hong Kong & Whampoa Dock
Co. Green Island Cement and China Power & Light.
