原是炮台陣地，十九世紀初建成，1898年英國租借新界後，炮台被廢棄。1979年列為香港法定古蹟，1988年全面維修。
Built during the 19th century, this fort on Lantau Island was disused after the British lease on the New Territories began in 1898.
