早期亦稱照鏡嶺，英國租借新界後，加籍人士
倫尼在該處建麵粉廠，因而稱為Rennie’s Mill，
但他在該廠關閉後自盡，香港回歸後英文名稱
改用調景嶺音譯。
This area was named Rennie's Mill, after Alfred
Herbert Rennie, a Canadian businessman who had a mill and subsequently killed himself there.
