又一村是糖薑大王余達之出資興建，寓意與九龍塘齊名，他希望華人應有自己的高尚住宅區，鄰近亦有貧民木屋。
This area had a number of squatter homes. A prominent ginger merchant, U Tat Chee, established Yau Yat Tsuen as an upscale residential area for well-to-do Chinese.
